The challenge:
Through research it was discovered that organisations are not short of creative ideas, but that individuals do not realise about the innate creativity within them and that leaders block ideas due to not wanting the status quo disrupted. Often this is through unconscious bias.
The solution:
A Creative leadership practice experience was designed to empower individuals to discover and express their innate creativity in their work to solve problems, de-risk their business and grow, individually and as an organisation. The experience included how to tap into a range of creativity ingredients, overcome bias against creativity, secure sponsorship for new ideas, wellbeing and mindfulness and designing values and an environment where creativity and innovation can flourish.Participants were engaged in business psychology and social science approaches to develop new ideas and they heard from artists on how to overcome resistance to new ideas and build resilience.
The result:
Participants were equipped with new ways to develop ideas and create an environment of creativity in their organisation and teams. Individually they expressed an increase in wellness at the end of the day.
Participant reflections:
I found linking the creative elements to your working environment really beneficial.
